Invitation

The Hungarian Society for Separation Sciences (HSSS) is happy to announce that the well-established series of Balaton Symposia is continuing. Following the traditions of the series, the 13th Balaton Symposium on High-Performance Separation Methods is going to be held on September 4-6, 2023 (from Monday through Wednesday) in the Hotel Azúr in Siófok, Hungary. The series of Balaton Symposia has grown to one of the major events of separation science in Central Europe. Biannually, the Balaton Symposium brings together separation scientists and friends from all over the world.

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate at the 13th Balaton Symposium on High-Performance Separation Methods.

The scientific program covers all aspects of separation sciences in liquid, gas, and supercritical fluid phases as well as hyphenation with advanced detection technologies.

The program will span from fundamentals of chromatographic separations and detection principles, over methodological and technological advances including separation materials, column technologies and instruments to applications in various fields. The symposium will place special emphasis on new developments in pharmaceutical, environmental, biomedical, forensic, life sciences and industrial separation methods.

The Balaton Symposium traditionally provides a forum to celebrate outstanding separation scientists. The Halász Medal Award and the Csaba Horváth Memorial Award are to be presented at the opening ceremony. The Ervin sz. Kováts Award for Young Scientists honors PhD dissertations accomplished by young researchers, defended or published between January 2021 and December 2022. The award is endowed with an amount of 4000 CHF in addition to a diploma and an invitation to the 13th Balaton Symposium.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Siófok at the 13th Balaton Symposium on High-Performance Separation Methods.
